Two construction workers were hanging on for their lives Friday afternoon after their scaffold collapsed at a Yonkers high-rise.

They were left dangling more than 100 feet above the ground. The construction workers were rescued by firefighters more than an hour and a half after a rope snapped on their platform, flipping it into a vertical position.

Safety harnesses likely saved the construction workers from plunging down more than 12 stories while they waited to be rescued. The causes of the scaffolding accident in Yonkers, New York is still unknown.
